Newspaper Contribution 7: The facebook

Globalization is a currently topic lived around the world. All business, social groups and contacts, enterprises, technology run with advances of each year and century. An evident clue about these changes is applications on the internet, and the more relevant, we guess, is Facebook. It is a revolutionary movement where a lot of people interact with another people, of different countries, cultures and languages. Based on this change in our life mode, Facebook have triggered positive and negative aspects in culture. Below we are going to explain them.
By the positive side, we could defend point of ease social contact. Thanks to applications as Facebook people would have a social meeting point where find known people like friends and family. It is an interaction container. Related with enterprises, Facebook plays an important role if we talked of marketing. Today, enterprises that do not have profile have a competitive disadvantage against other companies that has it. By this media, large and medium companies could make business and publish their products to the customers.
By the other side, this revolution brings great risks to users. Many people develop an obsession to this application and have degradation in their studies, work and visual performance. Some enterprises prohibit use of Facebook for these reasons. Also, people public their private life, each event and each action, and this creates a dependency in the user. This triggered sometimes a depression feeling that hardly can be removed. Finally, children are vulnerable to suffer kidnappings because they are too innocent, accept whatever people and they could steal their information.
In conclusion, we think Facebook is a great tool with strong advantages, but it could be dangerous, all depends of the use that people do. And enterprises have a powerful option if they know how exploit that. Like David Kikpatrick says: “Facebook effect: Internal history of a company connected to the world”. Today there are consultant dedicated to this profession and this shows the importance of the famous application. In this new decade, Facebook is playing a essential paper in social and business life of the enterprises. Each time, new advance is appearing, what will be next advances?

Newspaper Contribution 5: Effects of globalization

The Globalization is an economic, technological, social and cultural scale, which is the increased communication and interdependence among countries of the world uniting their markets, societies and cultures, through a series of social, economic and political that gives a global character. But it has its effects on the economy, cultural and society in the world.
In the economic aspect influences the development of a country at present, because if a country wants its products to enter and compete in the international market must inevitably interact with other countries in order to make easier the process of marketing their products. This system means that countries develop a global trading system, not only of goods but also services and technology. This exchange system is indispensable for the existence of a global economy. The globalized world is not fair, because it is a process of loss for those countries that do not have the resources to march to the beat of those who impose the new world order.
In the cultural field, the loss of identity has been a big problem because it has changed the culture of each country for a "global culture", which is usually associated with the spread of the values and lifestyle of western developed countries Based on consumerism and a false fashion.
Affects the environment because capitalism that is associated with globalization runs counter to environmental conservation and exaggerated consumerism raises no justification, resulting in exploitation of any resource such as water, energy, fuels and never looks for ways to replace it.
The globalization affects many ways to the economy, culture and environment of many countries, but so has its advantages and its disadvantages, the only way to fix this is to find ways on how to modify the system without affecting the culture solution to give poor countries and respecting the environment.

Newspaper Contribution 4: Ethnic Conflicts

In many countries and many periods a person’s ethnic identity has had profound consequences for his or her physical safety, political status, and economic prospects. Violent confrontation along ethnic lines is the most apparent form of ethnic conflict, and it recently has claimed lives in such diverse places throughout the world. The three most terrible ethnic conflicts have been the conflict in Rwanda, in former Yugoslavia, and The Holocaust during World War II in Europe.
The conflict in Rwanda started with the arrival of the Tutsis, it was the Tutsi dominated the Hutu turning it into servitude, but this disappeared with time. Rwanda became Belgian territory, and they created some reforms that were in favor of the Tutsis. This enraged the Hutus, who was the first in 1957 issued a manifesto calling for more rights for the Hutus, and then in 1959 began a revolt against the Tutsi, who seek to overthrow the Tutsi monarchy. Causing a riot, where more than 160,000 Tutsis fled to neighboring countries, where Hutu rulers again.
In the former Yugoslavia, the problems have been by cultural differences, attempts at unification were up until after the First World War, when the urge to come together to enhance safety and economic reasons. However, the nation that emerged was always fragile, because the union did not meet the needs of all groups equally. Tensions bubbled under the surface for the period of independent government, and continued under the rule of the Communists, who were able to keep groups together only by the threat of force and through the imposition of the whole structure and regulation from above. In this environment, ethnic differences produced vitriolic actions taken by one group against another, giving rise to what have been defined by the international community as a war crime.
The Holocaust was the systematic annihilation of six million Jews by the Nazi regime during World War 2. In 1933 approximately nine million Jews lived in the 21 countries of Europe that would be occupied by Germany during the war. By 1945 two out of every three European Jews had been killed. The European Jews were the primary victims of the Holocaust. But Jews were not the only group singled out for persecution by Hitler’s Nazi regime. As many as one-half million Gypsies, at least 250,000 mentally or physically disabled persons, and more than three million Soviet prisoners-of-war also fell victim to Nazi genocide. Jehovah’s Witnesses, homosexuals, Social Democrats, Communists, partisans, trade unionists, Polish intelligentsia and other undesirables were also victims of the hate and aggression carried out by the Nazis.
Ethnic conflicts such as in Rwanda, former Yugoslavia, and The Holocaust during World War II triggered the worst feelings a human being can have. Any country or society can go through such terrors. Different religion, race, and beliefs are not good reasons to kill each other. It depends on new generations not to repeat the terrible crimes against.

There are three main examples show that global warming is real. Many people don’t believe in the global warning but it is real. Since years the people don’t feel the effects of the global warming but now the environment consequences are more evident. About 1/3 of Kilimanjaro’s ice field has disappeared in the last 12 years and 82% of it has vanished since it was first mapped in 1912. Second, is the thermal expansion of water within the oceans and this makes the water is denser and takes up more space on the planet, for example, geological data suggests that global average sea level may have risen at an average rate of 0.1 to 0.2 mm/yr over the last 3000 years. Third, Average temperatures have climbed 0.8 degrees Celsius around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies .
